Rugova appoints Kosovo's representative with US


PRISTINA - Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova’s has appointed Bob Dole as the honorary representative for Kosovo with USA. This decision was met with disapproval by the UN administration in Kosovo.

UNMIK spokeswoman Susan Manuel declined to comment on Rugova’s decision. However, she made it clear that Kosovo institutions have no authority to make such decisions.

She said that Michael Steiner, the UN civil administrator is the only person authorized to pursue Kosovo’s foreign policy.
