Hungarian peacekeeper killed in Bosnia
BANJA LUKA, Bosnia-Hercegovina (AFP)A Hungarian soldier with international peacekeepers in Bosnia was killed and another injured when their vehicle skidded off the road into a minefield, officials said Thursday.
The body of the dead soldier and their vehicle were still on the spot while deminers cleared the field, a spokesman for the NATO-led Stabilisation Force (SFOR) said.
The second Hungarian soldier was able to walk out safely and was taken to hospital with light injuries.
Some 7,000 peacekeepers serve with SFOR, which was set up at the end of the country's 1992-95 war.
