Yugoslav Leader Accuses War Crimes Tribunal of Selectiveness in Applying Law
Apr 9, 2001 - Text of report in English by Yugoslav state news agency Tanjug.
Belgrade, 8 April: Yugoslav President Vojislav Kostunica said Sunday [8 April] that the war crimes tribunal in The Hague [ICTY] is applying laws selectively as it is prosecuting mainly Serb political or military leaders.
Interviewed by the BK TV, Kostunica said that laws must apply equally to all, and asked why the tribunal was not indicting Croatian or ethnic Albanian generals, such as Agim Ceku.
The tribunal's rules have so far been changed 19 times, Kostunica underlined.
